Choosing and buying
Getting from browsing to a price.
Open the door designer, choose your style, colour, glass and hardware, and enter your sizes. The price updates live as you go, including VAT and delivery. There is no form to fill in and nobody will ring you to 'discuss your requirements'.
No. You can design the whole door first and come back to the sizes. When you are ready, our measuring guide walks you through it in about five minutes, and if you are replacing an existing door you will usually be measuring the brick to brick opening.
You will see an accurate visual of your exact configuration in the designer as you build it. Colours on a screen are never a perfect match for the real thing, so if you are torn between two shades, call us and we will get samples out to you.
Door-Stop use an insulated core and are the best value composite doors in the UK. Solidor use a 48mm solid laminated timber core, which is heavier, allows deeper mouldings and carries a wider colour palette. If the door is the front of your house, Solidor is worth the difference. If it is a back door, Door-Stop is the sensible call.

The doors themselves
Construction, security and performance.
Yes, on two counts. The leaf itself is far harder to breach, and the locking hardware fitted as standard is better. The weak point on any door is the cylinder, so specify a TS007 3 star anti-snap cylinder such as an Ultion and you have removed the most common method of attack.
The colour is part of the GRP skin rather than a paint layer, so it does not peel or flake. Very dark colours on a south facing elevation will lighten slightly over many years, which is true of any dark exterior finish.
A composite door set typically achieves a U-value between 1.0 and 1.4 W/m²K depending on the glazing and frame you choose, which is substantially better than a timber door and better than most uPVC. Solid styles perform better than heavily glazed ones.
On Solidor, yes, and it costs nothing extra to specify. It is a good way to have a bold colour on the street and something calmer in the hallway.

Prices and payment
What you pay and how.
Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Payment is taken in full before the door goes into manufacture, because every door is bespoke to you.
Not yet. It is on the roadmap and we will announce it here when it is live.
We publish one price and everyone pays it, whether you are fitting fifty doors a year or one. We hold trade accounts with the manufacturers and we add a fixed, modest margin rather than a percentage that inflates as the door gets more expensive.

Delivery and fitting
Lead times, coverage and what happens on the day.
Door-Stop doors are typically 10 to 12 working days from payment, Solidor 12 to 15. Every door is manufactured to your sizes after you order, so there is no stock to ship and no shortcut on the lead time.
We deliver free to most of mainland UK. Some Scottish highland and island postcodes, plus Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, carry a surcharge or are not covered. The designer will tell you at the point you enter your postcode.
Not at the moment. We supply the complete door set, ready to fit, direct from the manufacturer. Most of our customers are fitters, and if you are a homeowner any competent joiner or window fitter will hang it in a morning. An installer network is on our roadmap.
The door arrives on a dedicated vehicle, wrapped and corner protected, direct from the factory. Someone needs to be there to receive it and check it. Inspect it before you sign, and tell us the same day if anything is not right.

Trade
For fitters, joiners and maintenance companies.
Our public prices are already trade prices, so there is no account to open to get a good price. If you are ordering regularly, get in touch and we will sort out priority lead times, consolidated delivery and a named contact.
Yes, and it is worth doing. Talk to us before you order and we will consolidate the manufacturing slots so they arrive together.

Guarantees and aftercare
What happens once the door is in.
Ten years on the door leaf and frame, and ten years on the hardware, from the date of delivery. The manufacturer's guarantee sits behind ours, but you deal with us, not them.
Contact us, not the manufacturer. Send photographs and your order reference and we will handle it. We arranged the order, so it is our problem to sort out.
You can change or cancel free of charge until the door enters manufacture, which is usually within 24 hours of payment. After that the door is being built to your exact specification and cannot be resold, so it cannot be cancelled. This is set out in full in our returns and cancellations policy.
