A solid laminated timber core rather than an insulated foam one. Heavier, deeper mouldings, a bigger palette, and it sounds different when it closes.
Front doors on properties where appearance and feel justify the extra spend. For a rear or side entrance nobody sees, Door-Stop is the sensible call.

Door-Stop use an insulated core and are the best value composite doors in the UK. Solidor use a 48mm solid laminated timber core, which is heavier, allows deeper mouldings and carries a wider colour palette. If the door is the front of your house, Solidor is worth the difference. If it is a back door, Door-Stop is the sensible call.
The colour is part of the GRP skin rather than a paint layer, so it does not peel or flake. Very dark colours on a south facing elevation will lighten slightly over many years, which is true of any dark exterior finish.
A composite door set typically achieves a U-value between 1.0 and 1.4 W/m²K depending on the glazing and frame you choose, which is substantially better than a timber door and better than most uPVC. Solid styles perform better than heavily glazed ones.
Door-Stop doors are typically 10 to 12 working days from payment, Solidor 12 to 15. Every door is manufactured to your sizes after you order, so there is no stock to ship and no shortcut on the lead time.
