Lead times

Lead time is counted in working days from the moment your payment clears, not from the moment you place the order. If you pay on a Friday afternoon, the clock starts on Monday.

If a lead time will not work for your job, tell us before you order rather than after. We can sometimes see an earlier manufacturing slot, but only before the order goes in.

Where we deliver

Free delivery covers most of mainland UK. A small number of postcodes carry a surcharge or are outside the delivery network entirely, and the designer will tell you at the point you enter your postcode rather than after you have paid.

• Free: England, Wales and mainland Scotland up to and including the central belt
• Surcharge: Scottish highlands, some AB, IV, KW, PA, PH and DD postcodes
• Not currently covered: Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands and Scottish islands

If you are outside the free area, call us before you order. We can often arrange a carrier, but it needs to be priced properly rather than guessed.

What happens on the day

1. 1You get a delivery date by email before the door leaves the factory, and a rough window the day before.
2. 2The door arrives direct from the manufacturer on a dedicated vehicle, not a general parcel network.
3. 3It comes wrapped, corner protected and usually standing in an A frame stillage.
4. 4Somebody over 18 needs to be there to receive it. The driver will help unload but cannot take it into the property or up steps.
5. 5Check it before you sign. Unwrap enough to see the face of the door, the frame and the glass.
6. 6Sign, and store it flat or upright against a wall, out of direct sun, until it goes in.

What to check before you sign

This is the five minutes that saves a fortnight. Once a delivery is signed for as received in good condition, a transit damage claim becomes considerably harder for everyone.

• The colour is the colour you ordered, inside and out
• The door style and glass pattern match your order confirmation
• No impact damage to the face, particularly the corners and the bottom rail
• The glass units are intact, with no chips at the edges or condensation inside
• The frame is straight and undamaged, and the hardware is in the box
• The sizes on the label match the sizes on your order

If something is wrong, note it on the delivery paperwork before the driver leaves, photograph it, and ring us the same day. We will handle it with the manufacturer — you do not have to.

Storage before fitting

If the door is going to sit for a few days, keep it indoors or under cover, standing upright or flat and fully supported. Leave the protective film on until the door is hung, but do not leave it on for months in direct sunlight, because it becomes very difficult to remove cleanly.
